Extra Credit is an app for students. It delivers questions and quizzes to students created by their teachers at the teacher’s portal found at https://www.extracredit.ws
One mission of Extra Credit is to provide a simple and clear user interface that students can use without instruction.
In this first release Extra Credit includes text-based questions with two types of answering mechanisms - text entry and multiple choice. Questions and quizzes can be manually scored or automatically scored saving teachers time to do what matters most – teach.
Extra Credit currently only works on iPhones and iPods with support for the iPad coming in the next release.
Also in the next release audio questions will be included. Based on your feedback priority will be given to other features such as picture and video questions or audio, video or picture answers.
In future releases plans have already been made to include in app messaging so teachers can send email type messages to individual students or entire classes delivered in the app with notifications on their devices.
Another exciting feature planned is a flash card learning systems called “Memory Stacks”. This system gathers feedback from the students as they learn each item and provides more or less frequent review of items based on the student’s feedback.
Extra Credit’s mission is to give teachers a platform to deliver content to their students on the devices they use the most – their phones and tablets, while also saving teachers time where it can and enhancing the learning experience when possible.
If you are a teacher head over to https://www.extracredit.ws and create your first course. Your feedback is very important so please express your opinion and suggestions when you get there. Thanks for being a teacher and letting Extra Credit serve you.
